Optimization of turbidity sensor "Dirty Harry I"
Principle:
- Step-by-step reflection of the beams by 180°
- Two measurements with different paths of the rays through the
medium (water)
- The longer way in the medium causes a higher attenuation of the
beam, resulting in a smaller photo current
- The shorter way gives lower loss, therefore a higher photo current
- The difference in the signals is a value for water turbidity
- Ageing effects of the light source are compensated
- With a known value for current water turbidity, the dishwasher
cycle may be stopped early.
